Welcome to the Heroes of Hull

VERY IMORTANT

We are still getting dozens of letters and help requests by mail that do not include a stamped, self-addressed, return envelope or a donation. We are extremely sorry but we are simply unable to reply unless you provide the means for us to do so. Funding for all of the Yorkshire Heroes sites comes out of our own pockets - not the council, government, H.M. Forces or anywhere else for that matter.

Military Heritage Day at the Carnegie

Our next appearance is the Carnegie Heritage Centre's annual Military History Day on Saturday 26th November, 10am to 4pm. There will be lots of displays including 'Trawlers at War', Families at War and so much more besides. Please bring in your own artefacts and pictures so that we can make a copy for our archives.

The Hull Memorial Project

The Yorkshire Heroes web site family would like to see a real war memorial in Hull which names our fallen heroes. Although we do have the Boer Wars Memorial, a Cenotaph and a World War One Memorial in Oppy, France; we believe that our fallen ancestors should be named; civilian, military, seamen and the civilian services.

We would like to know your thoughts and invite you to leave your feedback on our 'Hull Remembers' pages. You are also welcome to drop in to the Carnegie Heritage Centre and discuss your thoughts in person.

The Hull Blitz Exhibition - October 2011

Wow! Thank you to everyone who came to see us at the Hull Family History Fair and Hull Blitz Exhibition. What a crowd! It was fantastic to see, and to talk to, so many people.

Heroes Who Survived

For over 15 years concentrated on the fallen heroes of Hull and ignored those who survived, but now it is time for all of that to change. We are now seeking your help to record Hull (and district) folk who survived active service in the armed or civilian forces, whenever they served, or were injured in the bombings of WW1 or WW2. Discover how to include your heroes on our new Heroes Who Survived pages.

Hullwebs is totally reliant of voluntary donations to keep these web sites running. Please enjoy your visit, share your thoughts and drop us a line whenever you discover the name of a hero that we have missed. We will be only too pleased to add them to our pages.
